Daniel Canogar began his career in the field of photography and in the mid-eighties he moved to New York City, where he completed a master at New York University (NYU).

After his early period devoted to photography, his interest soon shifted towards the then new means of expression of installation. This change led him to create pieces with projections, optic fibre and later flexible LED screens.

Canogar’s artistic discourse explores the influence of digital society on our way of interrelating with the world and of communicating with others. Another fascinating point of interest in his practice is the way he seeks to integrate the spectator as an active element in the work.

Daniel Canogar has exhibited his work in Spain and internationally in, among other venues, Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, Madrid; Centre d’Art Santa Mònica, Barcelona, Museo Alejandro Otero, Caracas; The Andy Warhol Museum, Pittsburgh; and Hamburger Bahnhof – Museum für Gegenwart, Berlin.
