An exponent of the painting made in Valencia in the 1980s, Vicente Fuenmayor was intensely involved in Valencia’s abstract movement alongside other artists like Peyró Roggen (1953) and Julio Bosque (1954).

Fuenmayor began to exhibit his work in the 1970s and in 1973 he had his first solo exhibition at Sala Cite in Valencia. That same year he also won the First Young Art Prize and in 1982 he took part in the show New Painting from Valencia in New York.

While mainly predicated on abstraction, his style also went through figurative periods.
