Juan Escudero

Juan Escudero graduated with a BA in Fine Arts in 1991 from the University of the Basque Country, majoring in Painting. His practice took a significant turn in 1993 when he founded a 3D Animation company focused on architecture and advertising, where he gained a first-rate knowledge of Computer Graphics. He moved to Barcelona in 1999 and has lived there ever since.

In 2007, he rediscovered his passion for art through drawing, and in 2011, he ventured into the world of printmaking, and from 2017 onwards he has dedicated himself wholeheartedly to it. Since 2018, his work has been awarded with numerous prizes, including the Pilar Juncosa Biennial Edition Prize, awarded in 2020 by Fundació Pilar i Joan Miró in Mallorca; First Prize at the 18th Jesús Núñez International Graphic Art Award in Betanzos (A Coruña) in 2023, the same year that he won the BBVA Acquisition Award at FIG Bilbao, the international fair specialized in printmaking and work on paper for Atlántico, a work published in Lisbon at CPS, the Portuguese printmaking centre.
