Since 2010 Mayol is a member of the Executive Board of the Círculo de Bellas Artes. In 1987 he had his first solo show at Galería Ferrán Cano in Mallorca. From that moment onwards, his works have been widely exhibited both in Spain and abroad. He has obtained important distinctions like the Ciutat de Palma Antoni Gelabert Visual Arts Prize.

As an islander, Mariano Mayol centres most of his work on representations of the sea. His personal renditions are abstract, calmed, undefined, and deep. He is interested in the movements of the sea, in the wind that raises the waves and in the spherical accumulation of algae left by the receding tide.
