Despite his Andalusian origins, Paco de la Torre trained at the San Carlos School of Fine Arts of Valencia. After graduating, his art career took off as part of the Los Tres Caballeros (L3C) group, a collective he founded in 1989 with fellow members Fernando Cordón, Silvia Sempere, Teresa Tomás and Alfonso Herráiz.

He was interested in the metaphysical work of Giorgio de Chirico, something that would explain why critics have often labelled his work as neo-metaphysical figuration. His painting is distinctly geometrical and shows a clear interest in volume and in the arrangement of elements in space. His palette largely consists of highly contrasting colours in warm and cold or neutral tones.

Paco de la Torre’s paintings have been seen in numerous group exhibitions, including the seminal Muelle de Levante in Valencia. His work has also been exhibited in Italy and the United States.
