After experimenting with a variety of disciplines, including photography, cinema and theatre, a stay in Sweden, Denmark and Holland in 1976 led him to discover his vocation for painting, a calling that led him to enrol at Estudio Arjona to study Fine Arts (1977), furthering his studies later under the painter María Luisa Esteban. Later, his travels through several Asian countries also left a significant mark on his work. Since his first exhibition in 1985, Vega Seoane has taken part in countless shows, being distinguished with several prizes and his works are included in major public and private collections.

, half-way between pure abstraction and figuration, his style of painting is defined by colour and expressive freedom in compositions created through large blotches of colour and energetic Eastern-influenced graphic marks, a legacy from his travels to the Far East in the 1970s.
