The BBVA Collection is taking part in this exhibition paying tribute to La Casa del Siglo XV Gallery through the loan of seven works of art, namely: Forme gris bleuâtre (Antoni Tàpies),
(Pablo Palazuelo), Untitled (Eusebio Sempere), Espectro de la máquina (Juan Barjola), I Roja (Miguel Ángel Campano), O Ferran o García o Sevilla (Xavier Grau) and Untitled (José María Sicilia). These works are instrumental in constructing a visual overview of the most significant movements of the second half of the twentieth century and a good reflection of the line followed by this art gallery.

La Casa del Siglo XV was founded in 1962, against the backdrop of the modernization of the country and indeed of society as a whole, in parallel with the explosion of tourism, and soon became a mainstay of Segovia’s cultural life, introducing the happening new tendencies in art. It gradually became a hub for artists and collectors alike, as well as a platform to promote promising young talents.

The exhibition revolves around the different movements that appeared during the period when the gallery was active, with a particular mention for the matter-based
of Antoni Tàpies, the optical art of Eusebio Sempere or the geometrical abstraction of Pablo Palazuelo, as well as the distorted figurations of Juan Barjola closer to the realm of neo-expressionism; and then, in the 1980s and 90s, we find Miguel Ángel Campano as one of the maximum exponents of the renewal in Spanish painting.
