In the mid 1960s, Amadeo Gabino began to take an interest in
. Inspired by the progress in space technology and above all in aeronautical engineering, Gabino started to experiment with matter and space in a process that reached its peak in the mid 1970s with the creation of a suite of works simply titled Composición (Composition).

They are hermetic works, predicated on geometrical order and the layering of metal sheets cut in interconnected concentric circular forms as if in a
. Little by little, the sheets, made in different materials such as iron, steel, aluminium or brass, became easier to work with for the sculptor and allowed him a compositional freedom endowed with a rich symbolism that intensifies the dialogue between interior and exterior, the visible and the hidden, transparency and opaqueness, gloss and matte.

The BBVA Collection also holds another work from this same series called Composición (50/75).
