This interesting painter, sculptor, stage and graphic designer is known for his creativity and his exceptional ability to conceptualise spaces, engaging the beholder with his ingenuity and aesthetic originality.

Brayda’s painting hovers on that mysterious line in art that divides signified and signifier; a hieroglyphic without any possible solution which the artist tries to clarify by using the odd associated text or through the title of the work. The artist’s sheer versatility allows him to undertake all kinds of projects, always rigorously executed and carried out from an intimate approach.

In this oil on canvas, belonging to a suite of works from which he presented another piece with an identical title at Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid in January 1992, Brayda explores the subject matter of duality.

While in the other work the artist introduces two flowers alluding to the balance between thought and object, in this work Brayda places us in a landscape where the lines of two fishing rods are cast towards infinity. Therein lies another play of duality: one that takes place between the objectual and the mental.
