This late work, which the artist produced when he was painting in Sabadell and its surroundings, shows his predilection for untamed landscapes, like these peaks, whose peculiar geological structure attracted him for its visual impact. Made from observation with a quick and sketchy hand, the impasto in this work is not as thick as it was in earlier pieces. In it, the reddish ochre land that surrounds the mountain merges with the bright greens of the vegetation, especially at the foot of the mountain, and the soft pink, mauve and orange tones of the sunset.

It depicts the mountains of San Llorenç de Munt, with their peculiar geological formation: conglomerate rock highly susceptible to erosion that presents a characteristic relief, with deep cliffs or cingles among which rise the moles, masses of harder rock. The peak of La Mola is crowned by a Romanesque monastery that is often visited by hikers and mountaineers.
